Mobile Revolution

Over the past decade technology has inserted itself into every corner possible to dictate the conduct of the world & its population. One of the fastest growing & continuously changing technology is the mobile phone. The mobile revolution is one of the fastest ever whilst in 2000 there were only 15000 subscribers today there are over 600+ millions. This is an exponential increase of subscribers per year.
The so called -mobile revolution is in its full swing. As per the telecommunication regulators 613 million Indians have a mobile phone subscription of some kind-right from the auto rickshaw drivers keeping in touch with their regular passengers to the vegetable vendors taking the orders on phone .Having a mobile phone is like having an entire set of technology in one’s hand. This technology provides communication opportunities that were unheard just a few years ago.

The total mobile coverage may have reached more than 60% of Indian population. The millions who never imagined having a landline connection (because of cost & lack of infrastructure) now can easily enjoy communicating through mobile phone; moreover it increases safety, mobility & independence. Remarkably the illiterates & the semi-literates can also use mobile phone as it does not involve any complex technology & you also have an option to select a local language making it much simpler. The driving cause behind the increased usage of mobile phone is affordability-there has been a tremendous drop down in the call rates, new scheme are being launched with every mobile connection, cost of mobile phones have also reduced, you can easily buy a GPRS enabled handset with all the best features involved in it in a much more affordable range now, then it was say a year ago.

We can rather say that mobile revolution has spread its wings in almost every sector whether it is banking, health or education. It has proved to be a boon for the modern world be it for calling or messaging or even at times of emergency like calling an ambulance, police etc.Even for travelers mobile phone prove to be a beneficial tool allowing them to check their reservation status, flight/train status, go for online check-ins etc. It is even a threat to the manufacturers of watches ,clocks & torches as you must have noticed the decreased trend of watches these days ,as people can easily use the mobile phones to see the time ,set alarms & reminders and in case of power cuts the trendy torch enabled handsets can easily solve the purpose. We can even get information related with sports, news and astrology on a simple press of a button. With its various other options like MMS, SMS, downloading, social networking, internet facility, It has become the coolest & the trendiest of all the other modern equipments.
Mobile phones have become an indispensable part of our lives. We cannot imagine the world without mobile phones; it has proved to be a remarkable gift of technology, the technology for common people Rightly said “we can’t live without them; it’s not just a phone; it’s who we are, describes the importance of mobile phones.

Mobile phone companies are rolling out coverage to rural and remote areas too & Landline networks are not considered very effective in many of these places. Mobile phones are a big necessity in rural areas. It's not an indicator of wealth any more,It's now a tool that is likely to improve productivity dramatically.

nice blog.....
mobile devices provide another way to receive feedback, making it easier for companies to measure return on investment for campaigns, as well as for products and services. As social networking services such as Twitter become more prevalent, companies can monitor traffic that comments on their advertisements and services. Also, many businesses have developed applications dedicated to gathering feedback-

hey nice blog friends.
i am sharing some info about beginning of this industry.
In 1960, the world’s first partly automatic car phone system, Mobile System A (MTA), was launched in Sweden. MTA phones were composed of vacuum tubes and relays, and had a weight of 40 kg. In 1962, a more modern version called Mobile System B (MTB) was launched, which was a push-button telephone, and which used transistors in order to enhance the telephone’s calling capacity and improve its operational reliability.

if any body want to add anything .welcome

I would like to say people that mobiles now are not a plaything ,it is a lifeline for many of us.It has made things simpler ,you can easily discuss things on phone first for your business purposes also before you have a face to face discussion, this speed up the decision making process. This saves up your time & energy and help you to be available 24X7 for your clients ,...

I would like to add up that the mobile revolution was possible because of the liberalization of this industry. The world trade organisation has played a major role for it.The private players are equally playing a major role in providing a kick start in the different countries.
